MOU Signing Ceremony Celebrates Program’s Success
The Race4Chase Kids Triathlon Program embarked on its third year of operation by confirming fourteen program sites throughout Connecticut at its official MOU signing ceremony that took place at the the Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury, Ct on Thursday, January 28th. CMAK also confirmed that the Program will have its first site outside of Connecticut at the Upper Palmetto Regional YMCA in Fort Mill, South Carolina. The ceremony was well attended with representatives from each of the sites including YMCA Board members, administrators and coaches.
Many CMAK supporters and sponsors were also there to witness the commitment to the program by the CMAK Foundation and the Race4Chase sites which will lead to close to 500 children ages 6-12 years participating in the six week program culminating in a USAT sanctioned triathlon at YMCA Camp Sloper on August 6th, 2016.
The ceremony opened by recognizing CMAK’s support of pre-school education through grants provided to the Greater Waterbury YMCA preschool program to provide financial assistance to students in need. The Kowalski family presented a snowflake box to the preschool students and teachers in attendance. Also, as part of the ceremony, CMAK announced its agreement with the Bikes for Kids Foundation of Saybrook, CT whereby Bikes for Kids will provide refurbished bicycles to the program sites and the participants.
The six new program sites were presented their official Race4Chase plaques to be mounted at their home base. Race4Chase sponsorship plaques were presented to Dave Fowler, President of Bikes for Kids and David Stowe, President of DOT Generation, for their support of CMAK.
