Financial/501c3 Information

CMAK Sandy Hook Memorial Foundation is committed to directing our resources to maximizing the benefit to programs that fulfill our mission. We not only seek to effectively attract the proper level of donations to support successful and sustainable programs, but also to forge long lasting partnerships to provide equipment and services to our programs at the least possible cost.  This management of resources will lead to providing the most rewarding programs to the most participants. CMAK maintains a minimum amount of administration costs through its fully volunteer management. It also seeks to secure professional assistance at the least possible cost.

In 2013, CMAK successfully focused on setting up the foundation, organizing its grassroots fundraising and obtaining quality programs to fulfill its mission. This resulted in securing its 501c3 from the IRS on September 11th, 2013, negotiating a partnership with the Greater Waterbury YMCA to operate the Race4Chase Kid’s Triathlon program and Chase’s Place and providing grants for preschool education.

The monies raised by the CMAK Foundation help fund the successful Race4Chase Kids Triathlon Program which will operate in 2017 at twenty YMCA sites in three States, Connecticut, South Carolina and Rhode Island, serving over 650 youths ages 6-12.  The Foundation continues to support preschool education through grants, but the majority of its efforts are focused on the success of the Race4Chase Kids Triathlon Program.
